<aside> 🚘 Clay and I wanted to get out of Seattle while keeping our budget tight. We drove my 2005 Toyota Camry down the Oregon Coast, over to Crater Lake, and back up to Seattle in just 3 days. In that time, we took a ton of photos and pushed ourselves to new levels. This page details my experience and reflections from the trip. I went on this trip with one of my college roommates and good friend, Clay. At the time of this trip, we had graduated from the University of Washington just two months ago. We were spending the summer relaxing before our commitments in the fall. Clay was set to start work in Field Applications and Technical Sales at Texas Instruments after completing his BS in Electrical Engineering. While Clay isn’t a photographer, he also craved an adventure that was full of spontaneity, without hurting our wallets. Given that we had been living together for three years in a fraternity environment, we were comfortable with grueling nature of this trip that would involve living off of McDonald’s McChickens and sleeping in my 2005 Toyota Camry.
Outside of doing ridiculous things with me, Clay enjoys working at the intersection of hardware and software.
A screenshot from Google Maps of our planned route. Given time constraints, we focused our journey on capturing photos primarily on the western side of the state.
